The Nittany Lion Fund

The Nittany Lion Fund (NLF) is a student managed investment fund with over $10 MM in AUM serving over 70 individual investors. One of the first of its kind in the nation, the Nittany Lion Fund provides Penn State undergraduate students with the opportunity to make real investment decisions regarding the fund's equity securities while exploring the intricacies of the financial world. The NLF's mission is two-fold: to outperform the market, providing a strong return for its investors and to educate students in order to help them obtain careers on Wall Street.

The Penn State Investment Association

The Penn State Investment Association (PSIA) is the umbrella organization for the Nittany Lion Fund and provides an educational environment for students interested in investing. PSIA is open to Penn State students of all majors and experience levels. The group was founded to involve students in the research, analysis, and maintenance of a securities portfolio using a hands-on approach that bridges the gap between classroom concepts and real-world situations. The Nittany Lion Fund eventually grew out of this effort, based on a business structure and marketing plan developed by PSIA students.

PSIA and the Nittany Lion Fund have a symbiotic relationship. Members of PSIA may progress to roles within the Nittany Lion Fund. Nittany Lion Fund managers are responsible for the educational and career components of PSIA.
