Welcome back, Smeal students!
We are delighted that we will soon gather in the Business Building as the fall semester commences. My colleagues and I look forward to seeing you in person, eye to eye, as we all mask up.
The ongoing effects of the pandemic have made it more important than ever to stay up-to-date on what is happening in our college and across Penn State. That’s why I encourage you to download the Penn State Go app and stay connected to Smeal.
This year, you’ll be able to receive timely alerts and notifications of important deadlines and breaking news. To take advantage of this new feature, follow these simple steps:
- Download the Penn State Go App
- Click on your account at the top of the homepage
- Sign in
- Click on Settings
- Click on Push Notifications Settings
The Smeal channel on the app also provides important information and resources on such topics as:
- Learning at Smeal
- Staying Safe on Campus
- What’s Open in the Business Building
- Career Resources and Events
Just click on the “Academic Colleges” icon, and then “Smeal College of Business.”
In addition, we join with Penn State in strongly encouraging you to share your vaccination status after you receive your final dose — either the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine or one dose of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine. That information will allow University officials to better understand vaccination rates across the university and modify approaches, if needed. You can upload your vaccination records through myUHS.
On behalf of the entire faculty and staff at Smeal, best wishes for a successful and rewarding fall semester. See you around campus!
Regards,
Dean Charles H. Whiteman
