Partners in Business Ethics Symposium
The Partners in Business Ethics Symposium, first launched and co-hosted by the Penn State Smeal College of Business and American Express in 2010, is designed to promote business ethics in academia and corporate America. Corporations and business school deans share ideas, challenges, and best practices in preparing young professionals to lead with integrity in today’s workplace.
Vision: To strengthen the integrity connection between business and business education.
Mission: To connect business school deans, thought leaders in business ethics, and corporate leaders and foster dialogue among them and a shared commitment to promoting integrity and ethical behavior.
Goals:
- Bridge the gap between corporate business ethics and business school business ethics by connecting leaders from both worlds and creating an opportunity for dialogue.
- Share best practices for creating and sustaining cultures of integrity in business and business schools.
- Build upon the latest research and practice to brainstorm innovative ways to address contemporary ethical challenges in business and prepare future leaders to meet new challenges as they arise.
- Share best practices related to teaching and training that promote ethical leadership in business.
- Sustain a community of leaders committed to ethics and social responsibility in business.

- Review host school proposals and select schools to host the next symposia.
- Provide planning resources to host school.
- Respond to inquiries related to the Partners in Business Ethics Symposium.
- Attend quarterly conference calls.
Partners in Business Ethics Symposium Attendees:
A network of individuals, including business school deans, thought leaders in business ethics, and corporate leaders, who are committed to addressing ethics and its unique impact on the interdependent communities. Each attending dean is encouraged to bring a corporate adviser or board member to also participate.
