Legal Incentives & Regulatory Impacts

Current and past research focused on sustainability and law at the Smeal College of Business.

Legal structures can create barriers or pathways for sustainable businesses, and under the right circumstances, incentives for positive change. Regulation requires that firms develop compliance structures that align with sustainability goals. Smeal researchers study how law and regulation impact firm and individual sustainability behavior and prescribe change to better meet policy goals and ensure global coordination.
