Undergraduate Sustainability Case Competitions

Each semester, Smeal hosts a case competition for undergraduates in collaboration with a company sponsor. The competition is a hands-on opportunity to work on a cross-disciplinary team, to use business and markets to solve real-world social justice and environmental conservation challenges.

Speaker Series

Smeal regularly hosts academic and industry experts who share their perspectives, advice, and experiences with faculty, students, staff, and the community. Check out recordings of previous events hosted by the Center for the Business of Sustainability. 

Penn State University also offers the Sustainability Showcase, a weekly speaker series featuring scholars, educators, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives.

Sustainability Summit

The Smeal Center for the Business of Sustainability invites you to its two-day Sustainability Summit on April 10th and 11th, where innovative minds come together to tackle pressing climate challenges. Participants will collaborate, innovate, and present impactful solutions, all while gaining valuable insights and engaging in thought-provoking discussions with peers and faculty.

This immersive event invites you to dive into real-world sustainable solutions through a case competition, hands-on hackathon, innovation challenge, and virtual poster competition, followed up on the last day with a Networking Lunch and Learn that offers a chance to connect and exchange ideas with industry leaders.
