Humberto Fernandez
Humberto Fernandez is the Senior Director, Strategy and Support for the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. In this role, Humberto leads Quality & Compliance strategy development and shapes the strategic alignment of the pharmaceutical quality function. He is a member of the Pharmaceutical Quality leadership team, and a senior leadership member of the enterprise Hispanic Employee Resource Group at J&J.
Humberto brings more than 25 years of knowledge across several diverse roles in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Marketing Research, and Quality & Compliance. He began his career Johnson & Johnson in the Consumer group as a senior systems engineer at the Gurabo manufacturing facility in Puerto Rico. He held several technical and managerial positions of increased responsibilities in Information Technology. While maintaining his IT responsibilities, he was assigned to lead the 2nd shift manufacturing operations of the Johnson’s Dental Floss operation for a year. Humberto relocated to New Jersey in 1994 as Group Manager to become part of the Consumer Products Companies where he created the first shared services IT group to support several consumer business units. In 1995, he was promoted to Director while leading multiple strategic IT projects. In 1997, Humberto joined the Pharmaceutical group with Janssen Pharmaceutica and Research Foundation as Director of Central Development and Data Management. Humberto’s role extended to Marketing Research New Products forecasting and strategic compound prioritization. He then rotated to the Pharmaceutical Supply Group Americas (PSGA) in 2001 to become part of newly formed IT organization where he successfully implemented several key IT initiatives across The Americas. Humberto was appointed to Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer in 2003 and served as member of the PSGA management board. Before moving into the Quality organization, he held several global IT roles to form the Global Pharmaceutical Supply Group.
Before joining Johnson & Johnson, Humberto spent three years with Hewlett-Packard. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science from the University of Florida and currently resides in Yardley, Pennsylvania.
