Women hold nearly 52% of all professional level-jobs, yet they significantly lag behind the male population when it comes to their representation in leadership positions. Currently, only 4.6% of Fortune 500 CEOs are female. This interactive and engaging workshop explores the cultural and structural barriers that have prevented the gender gap from narrowing in the corporate world, and provides ways in which women can overcome these obstacles to rise to the top. This workshop focuses on the importance of resilience and adaptability, as well effective communication and strong mentors and networks in achieving success - for both women and men alike. Not only will the workshop highlight the relevance of this issue in the world today, but it will also offer a unique perspective on a more personal level through an exclusive panel discussion. • "Panel Discussion: Global Business Etiquette"

This interactive panel based workshop will discuss the business culture of several countries around the world as well as ways for participants to become culturally aware. This workshop will help prepare participants entering into the global marketplace and will offer participants an opportunity to test their knowledge of cultures around the world.

• "How to feel at home in your new job: Adjusting to the corporate environment"

Teams of students will be presented with scenarios that a new-hire might experience in the corporate environment. Teams will be judged based on how they respond to the situation. There will be multiple rounds with different situations and scenarios for the different teams to work through. This session will give students time to work amongst themselves and try to problem solve. At the conclusion of each round, we will have one representative from the group discuss what the team’s decision was. This workshop will serve as a kind of live case study for the students and enable them to get an idea of some of the challenges and situations they may find themselves in.
