Thompson Harner
Thompson Harner is a manager in Ernst & Young’s Advisory Services practice and part of the Risk sub-service line. He graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2003 with Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting & International Business and French. Thompson is in his eighth year with Ernst & Young. He began his career in the Firm’s Assurance practice in 2003. During his first four years at Ernst & Young, Thompson performed external auditing work at a market-leading hospitality company where he focused on public filing and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance audits. He also contributed to the external audits for the US Presidential Inaugural Committee, a variety of employee benefit plans, construction and biotech companies.
In 2007, Thompson transitioned to Ernst & Young's Advisory Services practice, where he focuses on financial accounting-related advisory services, including Sarbanes-Oxley readiness, contract compliance reviews, business performance management initiatives, process improvement recommendations and efficiency analyses. He has primarily served financial services and utility companies during his time within the Advisory Services group.
Thompson is an active participant with on-campus recruiting efforts. including classroom and student group presentations encompassing diversity and inclusiveness perspectives in the workplace. As Ernst & Young’s Campus Inclusiveness Coordinator to The Pennsylvania State University, Thompson manages Ernst & Young’s inclusiveness and diversity relationship and focused recruiting efforts with the university.
