Dr. Shawn M. Clark

Dr. Clark teaches courses in corporate innovation, entrepreneurship, enterprise architecture, project management, professional services, business strategy, business process management, and decision making. Shawn's current research is focused on business architecture modeling, enterprise architecture transparency, situational awareness, anticipatory clue detection engine design, and the strategic alignment of business and IT.

Dr. Shawn Clark teaches courses in entrepreneurship, innovation, business planning, enterprise modeling, executive decision making, project management, and business transformation consulting. He also works as an executive education professional for Penn State Executive Programs, providing training to top managers about corporate innovation and executive decision making. He recently developed, launched, and now leads the successful online master’s program in Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Penn State.

As an administrator at Penn State, Dr. Clark has served as Director of the IST Consulting Solutions Program, Executive Director of the Institute for Global Prescience, Director of Business and Career Solutions, and Co-Director of the Solutions Institute at the College of Information Sciences and Technology. His current research focuses on entrepreneurial leadership best practices, new thinking strategies, business architecture modeling, corporate innovation, anticipatory clue detection engine design, and the strategic alignment of business and information technology.

He has consulted with and helped manage projects for IBM, Lockheed Martin, Oracle, Ford Motor Company, Disney, U.S. Marine Corps, NSA, Chubb Insurance, Providence Gas, and Brooklyn Union to name just a few. As a professional service provider, he achieved the rank of IBM certified business transformation consultant. In addition to careers in consulting and academia, Shawn also filled a variety of product design and management roles in such innovative companies such as The Naturalist, Rocky Mountain Twig, and Intellimodule.com.

Dr. Clark earned his Masters of Organizational Behavior and Bachelors of Science degrees at Brigham Young University and his Ph.D. in Business Administration at Penn State.
