Reminder: Register for Raup Executive Insights session
Registration is now open to faculty, staff, and students for the Executive Insights session featuring Chuck Raup (’89 B LOG), the U.S. president of The Hershey Company. That is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. Friday in Struthers Auditorium, 110 Business Building, and via YouTube Live. Faculty members, if you haven’t already, would you please consider awarding your students extra credit for attending? Register.
Fall All-College Meeting is Tuesday
The annual Smeal Fall All-College Meeting will take place at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Struthers Auditorium, 110 Business Building, and via Zoom. A reception will be held in the atrium immediately following the conclusion of the meeting.
Prime Branding Panel to feature diverse set of speakers
Penn State Smeal College of Business students interested in careers in branding will have a unique opportunity to learn about the profession from an array of industry experts during the 7th Annual “Forging a Career in Branding” panel discussion. The virtual event, which is sponsored by Penn State Prime in partnership with the AD/PR Club and Levlane Advertising, is scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Read the story.
Three Smeal alumni to receive Alumni Fellow Award
Three graduates of the Penn State Smeal College of Business — Jean Oelwang, Larry Raiman, and George Strickler — will receive the Penn State Alumni Association’s Alumni Fellow Award during a ceremony scheduled for Wednesday evening.
Impact Smeal Day scheduled for Friday
The biennial Impact Smeal Day is scheduled for Friday throughout the Business Building. A full schedule of events can be found online. Twice during the day, students will have an opportunity to interact with alumni in the Atrium during Career Roundtable Discussions. Schedule of events.
Four board meetings on tap this week
Four Smeal advisory boards are scheduled to meet this week in the Business Building. The Alumni Society Board, Finance Advisory Board, Accounting External Advisory Board and Borrelli Institute for Real Estate Studies Advisory Board are all scheduled to convene. With so many alumni visitors in the building, we hope the Smeal community will help them all feel welcome.
Nominations open for 2023 faculty and staff achievement awards
Penn State Human Resources is now accepting nominations for the Faculty and Staff Achievement Awards for 2023. Given annually, these awards recognize the efforts of faculty and staff who go beyond their basic duties to bring about positive and lasting change to the University and/or to the community.
