ISBM introduces 2nd edition of ‘Handbook of B2B Marketing’

Smeal’s Institute for the Study of Business Markets has introduced the second edition of its landmark “Handbook of Business-to-Business Marketing.” This edition provides an updated comprehensive state-of-the-art overview of business-to-business marketing by the leading academic scholars and practitioners in the field from around the world. Register for Executive Insights with Dana Deasy

The final Executive Insights event of fall semester, with Dana Deasy, a senior advisor at Brighton Park Capital and former chief information officer for the United States Department of Defense, is scheduled for 11:15 a.m.-12:05 p.m. Friday in Struthers Auditorium, and via YouTube Live. Faculty members, if you haven’t already, would you please consider awarding your students extra credit for attending? Register.

Tickets available for Forum Speaker Series

The Dean’s Office has sponsored a table for each speaker in the 2022-23 Penn State Forum Speaker Series. The luncheons are held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Presidents Hall of the Penn Stater Conference Center and Hotel.   • Dec. 1 — Dr. Na’ilah Nasir, president of the American Educational Research Foundation, National Academy of Education member, and CEO of the Spencer Foundation
  • Feb. 23, 2023 — Velvet Brown, School of Music professor and the Penn State Laureate for 2022-23
  • March 23, 2023 — Sabaah Folayan, award-winning film director of the documentary “Whose Streets?”
  • April 20, 2023 — Derek Lee and Monica Bond, wildlife biologists, activists and Penn State professors will present “True Tales from Tanzania”

Customers bought 3,600 gallons of Business Bash

As part of its brand refresh, Smeal partnered with the Berkey Creamery to temporarily rename its Birthday Bash ice cream as Smeal Business Bash. The year-long partnership has ended, but in the past year, Creamery customers bought 3,600 gallons of the yellow cake batter ice cream that featured frosted cookie freckles and blue frosting swirl.

PSU 6/BA 197 Business Ethics Case Competition winners announced

Over the past several weeks, teams of first-year students in more than 50 sections of PSU 6 and BA 197 competed in the Business Ethics Case Competition. Nine teams advanced to the semifinals and three teams advanced to the finals where they competed for scholarship prizes. The winners were as follows:

  • 1st place: PSU 6, Section 48 (instructor Dina Guthoff) — Jaiden Asch, Grace Hubbard, Michael McGinley, Richa Rao, Caleb Shuman
  • 2nd place: PSU 6, Section 48 (instructor Dina Guthoff) — Emma Care, Mariana Dubeux, Catelle Le Baut, Palmer Moore
  • 3rd place: PSU 6, Section 10 (instructor Elizabeth Fegert) — Destiny Barros, Matthew Dyer, Giavanna Famularo, Dhruv Maradiya, Andrew Steigerwald
