Giving Tuesday is an international day of giving that will take place on Nov. 29. The Student Emergency Fund provides financial support for students who face an unexpected financial challenge that threatens their ability to afford food, rent, utilities, internet access, medical bills, or other basic necessities as they work to complete their Smeal degree. You can join the effort by making a giftbetween now and Nov. 29, or by becoming a Smeal Champion to spread the word ahead of GivingTuesday. Smeal Champion.
Smeal sponsors Maryland at Penn State football game
We continue to promote the Smeal brand through a partnership with Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics. That partnership included sponsorship of Saturday’s football game against Maryland. I was interviewed at halftime by Penn State play-by-play announcer Steve Jones, and several alumni, faculty and staff members represented the college on the field during the first quarter. Smeal's brand was prominent in the stadium, the radio broadcast, and gopsusports.com.
Consider taking the ‘Living Our Values’ survey
Penn State has launched the 2022 Living Our Values Survey. It is a continuation of the Values and Culture Surveys conducted in 2017 and 2013 that helped University leadership understand how the Penn State Values of integrity, respect, responsibility, discovery, excellence, and community are integrated into Penn Staters’ day-to-day lives. The 2022 survey, which runs through Nov. 22, is intended for faculty, staff, graduate students, and post docs. Check your inbox for an email from President Bendapudi dated Nov. 7 and titled “Take the Living Our Values Survey” for more information and to take the survey. Read the story.
