Research reveals team newcomers are treated differently based on attractiveness and sex

A study co-authored by Stephen Humphrey, Alvin H. Clemens Professor of Management, revealed that reactions to a new work team member may differ depending on the newcomer’s attractiveness and sex. Read the story.

Kankanhalli to discuss research paper

Shreya Kankanhalli, assistant professor of marketing, will discuss her paper “Modernizing Retailers in Emerging Markets” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in 214 Business Building. Lunch will be provided, but attendees must register online. The Center for Global Business Studies encourages faculty to present their research that features an international business dimension. Kumar research paper published in Information Systems Frontiers

Ahkil Kumar, professor of information systems, co-authored a paper, titled “Multi-level Team Assignment in Social Business Processes: An Algorithm and Simulation Study,” in the journal Information Systems Frontiers. Read the paper.

MOL student Harrar receives 2022 McCoy Award

John Harrar, a standout on the Penn State men’s basketball team, has been selected as a 2022 recipient of the Ernest B. McCoy Award. It is presented annually to two senior student-athletes, one male and one female, who have combined successful athletic participation with academic excellence. Harrar is working toward a master’s degree in management and organizational leadership at Smeal after earning a bachelor’s in management in 2021. Read the story.

University announces changes to indoor masking

Penn State announced recently adjustments to the indoor masking and testing protocols in response to high vaccination and low levels of COVID-19 in the community. Please know that the Penn State Coronavirus Information Website has been updated to provide answers to these questions and others.
