Fall 2022 student marshal inspired by family’s love of finance

The college is seeking nominations for the following teaching awards:

  • Teaching excellence (separate awards for undergraduate, master’s and Ph.D. levels)
  • Excellence in online teaching
  • Excellence in teaching by an early career faculty member
  • Excellence in teaching by a Ph.D. student
  • Innovation in teaching tools and methods

Nominations for the 2022-23 academic year (Summer 2022-Spring 2023) will be accepted until May 5, 2023 and recipients will be selected by the Smeal Teaching Awards Committee over the summer. Campbell successfully defends doctoral dissertation

Jamie Campbell, assistant dean for diversity enhancement programs, has successfully defended his doctoral dissertation. His program, chaired by William Rothwell, was in the College of Education’s Department of Workforce Education and Development. Jamie specialized in organization development and human resource development. The title of his dissertation is “Identifying Diversity Best Practices in the Workplace: A review of workplace diversity practices that can prevent diversity crises in organizations.” Please join me in congratulating Jamie on this significant achievement.

Three Ph.D. alumni among 2023 class of MSI Scholars

Three Smeal Ph.D. alumni were named to the 2023 class of Marketing Science Institute Scholars, a group of 36 mid-career faculty. The MSI initiative was developed to recognize excellence in marketing scholarship, develop a cohort across marketing disciplines, and strengthen ties between scholars and MSI. Politico article features CBoS ESG survey

Politico’s The Long Game, a newsletter from Politico for leaders building a sustainable future, published a story about a survey conducted by the Center for the Business of Sustainability and communications firm ROKK Solutions. According to the survey findings, voters feel that companies should generally be able to conduct business and take ESG risks into account without government interference, among other findings.
