Distinguished Achievement Award Guidelines

Number of Awards

Up to six recipients can be chosen each year, assuming the nominees are approved by the selection committee.

Criteria

Nominees should demonstrate significant contributions and achievements in their chosen profession, their community, and to the Smeal College of Business. Successful nominees will likely have received recognition for their achievements from other professional or community organizations. Their accomplishments should stand out as enhancing the prestige of the college. Nominees must be a graduate of the Smeal College of Business. At-Large Directors of the Smeal Alumni Society Board are not eligible.

Nominations

Nominations are solicited from Smeal faculty, staff, students, and alumni.

Selection Committee

The selection committee includes members of the Smeal Alumni Society Board and Smeal’s Director of Alumni Relations.

Timeline

Nominations are due by Friday, October 11, 2024. The award is presented to the recipient in a ceremony during the annual Smeal Alumni Awards program held each spring.
