Advisory Boards
The Smeal College of Business benefits from thoughtful guidance and direction provided by numerous advisory boards. These boards, with members drawn from the college's vast community of alumni and friends, focus on a variety of missions, from overall college input to unit- and discipline-specific contributions. College-level bodies at Smeal include the Board of Visitors and the Alumni Society Board.
Board of Visitors
The Smeal College Board of Visitors (BOV) was formed in 1989. Its purpose is to serve as a corporate board of advisors, focusing especially on providing counsel and stimulating advances in areas of strategic importance to Smeal and Penn State.
Alumni Society Board
The mission of the society is to stimulate and develop the continued interest of all graduates, former students, faculty, and friends of The Smeal College of Business; and to provide a means whereby they may join together for the improvement of The Smeal College and the University in its entirety.
Sustainability Advisory Board
Advisory board members lend their experience and expertise to the Sustainability Council and serve as conduits to the latest corporate developments in sustainable business practices. The board assists in guiding Smeal's sustainability agenda by helping to match the college's strengths with the sustainability issues that the board members encounter as they lead their corporations sustainability efforts.
